We’ve asked Stephanie Walker, hair stylist, and coloring specialist, to share her thoughts about lavender hair color.

What do you think about Lavender Hair?

Lavender is such a beautiful color perfect for next season. There are so many shades and variations ranging from purple-silver tones to muted lilac hues, this color is versatile with lots of shades and complements all skin tones.

What to Consider before getting such hair color?

When doing any type of pastel/ lavender hair it's a whole experience the hair has to be lightened to a pretty light blonde and toned to make sure there is no yellow.

What about the upkeep and maintenance?

I recommend washing your lavender hair with Olaplex shampoo and hair conditioner. Between the washes, you may use a dry shampoo of your choice. Yet, Moroccanoil is one of my favorites. For styling, I prefer Leaf & Flower products. If I'm going for an all-over vivid color, I make a so-called color bomb by mixing the color I used with a conditioning mask. I actually have vivid hair myself, and I use all these products on my own hair. So, I can tell from my personal experience that they work. When it comes to maintaining hair color, the key is to use cooler water and not overwash it. I feel like some people may be overwashing their hair, and that's why it fades quickly.

How to choose the right hairstylist for such hair changes?

I would say it's important to do your research and check out your stylist's Instagram page and see their work if they do a lot of pastels I think making a consultation appointment to talk about what they want and make sure the stylist is a good fit for them.
