Permanent makeup is a real salvation for those who value their time and want to look well-groomed without daily effort. However, like any cosmetic procedure, it may fade or be performed poorly. As a result, the lines lose their clarity, the color fades or, conversely, acquires unwanted shades of blue, green or red. What can you do? Correction requires a competent approach and a professional technician.

Why Should You Remove Your Old Permanent Makeup?
The first thing you need to know is, an old permanent makeup cannot be covered without first checking the client's medical history and analyzing the pigment. Failure to do so may result in double brows or uneven coverage in some cases. Old pigments, especially those used in earlier techniques, oxidize over time, change color and fill spaces in the skin layers, which makes them difficult to work with later. Additionally, old pigments affect how a new permanent layer lays down, which can lead to poor results such as a “double brow”. Removal is the only correct way to get rid of the old pigment and avoid the “sandwich” effect.
Laser And Remover
Today I use two proven methods of removing permanent makeup: laser removal and chemical remover.
Laser Removal
This method is considered one of the most modern and popular. The laser produces light pulses that destroy pigment particles. They are then naturally eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system. The procedure does not leave scars. It is safe for skin and does not affect hair growth in the treatment area.
The laser is great for removing deep and dark pigments such as black or dark brown. However, it may be less effective when working with colored pigments such as green or red. Usually 3 to 5 procedures are required, depending on the pigment’s depth, composition and shade.
Chemical Remover
It is best to start permanent makeup removal with a chemical remover. This is a gentle but very effective method that allows you to pull pigment out of the skin without damaging it. The remover works especially well with colored and complex pigments such as green, red or blue.
Its great advantage is that its composition can be adapted to the client’s individual skin characteristics. For example, for sensitive or thin skin I use gentler formulas to avoid irritation or scarring.
I often combine remover and laser removal. The laser helps remove pigment remnants from the deep layers of the skin, but I only use it if it is really necessary. In this way I achieve a cleaner result and a complete tattoo removal.
Dealing With Unwanted Shades
If you see green, blue or red shades on your eyebrows, this indicates that the pigment in the skin is not working properly. These colors appear when the pigment starts to oxidize or interact incorrectly with the skin.
Overlapping these colors cannot be done efficiently since they will show through the new pigment layer. The only solution here is a complete removal. Although this process may take some time, the results are worth it!
Individual Approach
Each case is unique. For example, if the shape of your eyebrows remains suitable and the remaining pigment is minimal, you can do without removal. But if the pigment has changed color or is too deep, a more serious approach is required.
During the consultation, I always diagnose the condition of the skin and the remaining pigment. This helps me choose the method that will not only effectively remove the pigment but also preserve the quality of your skin.
Sterility Is The Core Of Trust
Permanent makeup removal procedures require strict sterility. All equipment must be disposable or thoroughly sterilized, and the master must wear gloves.
If the master does not ask you questions about your health, possible allergies and the characteristics of your skin, this is a reason to be wary. Only an integrated approach and compliance with all sterility rules guarantee a safe performance.
How Long Does It Take?
Permanent makeup removal is a process that requires patience. Even the most modern methods do not give instant results, since your body needs time to completely remove the remaining pigment.
Typically, several treatments at intervals of several weeks are required to give your skin time to recover. It is important to remember that getting a high-quality result is impossible if you don’t follow your master’s recommendations.
Old permanent makeup removal is a difficult but crucial step for those who want to maintain healthy skin and get an aesthetically pleasing result.
There are lots of words and promises coming from the masters, but I want to bring you back to reality: a high-quality result requires time and patience. Of course, we all want everything at once, but it is important to understand that your skin must recover gradually. Trust only professionals.
