- After your tattoo is done, leave the bandage applied in the studio for 24 hours (in case of a second skin bandage).
- If a foil was applied, change it to a fresh one every 3 hours during the first 24 hours, and then do not use any more foil. Let the tattoo breathe. Each time you change the foil, wash, dry and reapply a healing cream to the tattoo area!
- Remove the breathable bandage after 24 hours. Remove it wet! Wet it thoroughly with water and remove under a stream of running water, slowly and gently.* There may be some leaked ink and plasma under the bandage (especially in the morning). It will look like a wet spot, but it is completely normal. Keep the bandage on the skin until 24 hours have passed.
- After removing the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with water and hypoallergenic liquid soap, intimate hygiene gel or a special tattoo cleansing gel.
- Dry the tattoo with a disposable paper towel, gently placing it on the skin. Apply tattoo healing cream to the tattoo area. Repeat the procedure every 3 hours during the day.
- Take care of your tattoo this way for 3 weeks.
DON’T:
- Drink alcohol for the first 3 days after getting a tattoo.
- Peel off the skin that will appear on your tattoo after a few days and will flake off.
IN THE COURSE OF 3 WEEKS AFTER GETTING A TATTOO:
- Don’t go to the swimming pool, sauna and gym. Don't swim in open water (lakes, rivers, seas etc.)
- Don’t bathe in the bathtub (take quick showers only, so as not to soak your tattoo).
- Don’t go to a solarium and don’t expose your tattoo to the sun.
- Don’t play sports and don’t increase your daily physical activity.
- Don’t wear tight clothes on the fresh tattoo area.
What are the dos and don'ts for someone who already has a tattoo?
If you want to enjoy a beautiful tattoo for many years, avoid the sun! Do not sunbathe your tattoo and cover it with clothes or apply a cream with the highest 50SPF filter whenever you are exposed to sunlight.
I also recommend moisturizing your tattoo every day with a good balm or, preferably, body oil. A properly moisturized skin will make the tattoo look more contrasting, expressive and colorful.
