Refreshing Drink Recipes To Try On Hot Days

So we are in that part of the year where drinks are not just for enjoyment, they are almost a necessity. Beating the hot summer months with some ice-cold drinks is just perfect. So what are the drink recipes that can keep you from adding too many calories to your diet? Let us look at some recipes that can grant you sweet reprieve from the summer heat.

1. Sparkling White Peach Sangria

Some ice-cold white peach sangria can make you forget the summers as you enjoy the pleasant drink. With a wide variety of wines and fruit mix-ins you will find numerous ways to create some good tasting Sangria. Our recipe uses Moscato, a white wine from the north-east region of Italy. It is slightly sweet and slightly spritzy.

Makes 4 to 6 sparkling white peach sangria, drink it with spaghetti squash

Ingredients Quantity
White Peaches (sliced)
Peach or Apricot Brandy
Moscato Wine
Peach seltzer water

1 bottle
1 litre

In a pitcher, put 3/4th of the sliced peaches. Add brandy and lightly muddle it. Add the Moscato and Seltzer water to the mix and stir with a wooden spoon.

Pour your drink into ice-filled glasses and use the rest of the peaches to top the glasses.

2. American Virgin

If you are trying to get back into shape after the holiday season then summer is your chance to make the most of light food. The American Virgin is a perfect drink for the calorie conscious people. The drink adds only 34 calories to your body and keeps you refreshed.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, put 1 shot, which is 2 ounces, of peach juice and club soda. Add 1 splash of orange juice and a splash of lemonade. Stir well and strain into a glass full of ice. Use a lemon wedge to decorate your glass and you have a 34-calorie mock-tail that is perfect for summers. This will make 1 glass of American Virgin.

3. Skinnygirl Margarita

If you are eyeing a Margarita but you do not want to blow your diet, then try the Skinnygirl Margarita. It is perfect for the summers and keeps a check on your calories too. You do not need too many ingredients for this either. Enjoy the Skinnygirl Margarita with friends or just by yourself.

You will need 2 oz. of Clear Premium Tequila, a tiny splash of orange liquor, the juice of 4 fresh lime wedges, a splash of BOLS Triple Sec or Grand Mariner. Take a glass of ice and put all these ingredients together in the glass. Use a lime wedge on the glass rim for garnishing and you have created 1 glass of Skinnygirl Margarita.
